Fan Mail (Text the Show)

Fan Mail uses SMS to give listeners a way to reach out to your show directly— making it easy for them to share encouragement, ask questions, and send feedback! You’ve always been able to communicate with your listeners; now, they can communicate with you!

Your listeners can send you a text or voicemail, which will arrive directly in your Buzzsprout account. From there, you can see the messages and even respond to your fans!
 

Setting Up Fan Mail

Fan Mail is available on all paid Buzzsprout plans. To enable it:
  1. Head to the Fan Mail tab on your Episodes page. 
  2. Scroll through the page to learn how it works. 
  3. Click Enable Fan Mail to get started. 
Then, you can customize the text of the link and choose where it appears. When you’re done, click Save Changes!

This will automatically drop the text with a hyperlink into your episode descriptions that show on your listings and your Buzzsprout website. When a listener clicks the link, it will open a new text message on their device addressed to your show. They will have the option to send a text message or a voicemail!

These messages will then show on the Episodes > Fan Mail page in your Buzzsprout account.

Pro Tip: Your Fan Mail messages are often the best reviews of your show, and you can pin them to your Buzzsprout website! When you do, they'll show on the website under a "Fan Mail" tab. 855964494-cleanshot-2026-04-13-at-12-12-22-2x.png

Fan Mail Voicemails 

It can be really impactful to hear your listeners' voices, so Fan Mail includes the option to leave a voicemail! 857543819-cleanshot-2026-04-16-at-15-01-05-2x.png Voicemails will also show under the Episodes > Fan Mail tab in your account! You'll see your listener's name and email, a voice recording of their message, and a transcription of the message! If you press "Download Audio," it will save the voicemail as an MP3 to your device. 857547276-cleanshot-2026-04-16-at-15-10-10-2x.png Note: If you are on a computer, you'll only see the option to send a voicemail, not a text.

Using the Buzzsprout App? 

You can enable Fan Mail within the Buzzsprout App, too! Go to the More tab and click the Fan Mail option.
